This is my "go-to" peanut butter cookie recipe. It is an easy, classic recipe. I was asked to bring two dozen cookies to church, and this is what I made. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that when asked to bring food somewhere it is not the time to try a new recipe or experiment with ingredients.
I used to almost always try new recipes when bringing goodies somewhere. That used to be about the only time I baked, so I looked at it as chance to try something new. And I actually added quite a few very good recipes to my repertoire. That all changed a few years ago when I was left digging through my cupboards trying to figure out what to make after a recipe from a magazine flopped. I can't remember the exact recipe, but I remember it was some type of danish filled with cream cheese and raspberry jam. The filling spilled out everywhere and was a terrible mess. Worse than the mess was that I had no back-up plan and only had a few (very early morning) hours to make something else. So, lesson learned. Sometimes classic, tried-and-true recipes like this peanut butter cookie recipe are the best.

Blogger Awards!
Last month I was honored to receive the Lovely Blog Award from
and the Stylish Blogger Award from Runs With Spatulas
and the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award from Sandra's Easy Cooking.
I love my fellow bloggers and truly appreciate the awards! Please check out their blogs and follow them if you don't already. In a different blog post, I recently wrote about receiving the Stylish Blogger Award. You can click here to see the 10 blogs I passed the award on to and read the 7 things I wrote about myself. Because these awards can become an endless circle of "passing along" I am going to share some blogs I have recently discovered and award them with the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award with no responsibilities. However, if they would prefer one of the other awards and want to pass it along to other blogs, they can do that if they want--it is up to them!

ReplyDeleteReally? Peanut butter cookies? And this made the top nine?
ReplyDeletePeanut butter cookies with fork imprints have such a special place in my heart! So nostalgic!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to make a batch for Easter! One question: would using natural peanut butter change the consistency in any way?
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your sweet comments!
ReplyDelete@S. I usually don't use natural peanut butter for these, however I did for this batch! I thought I had some regular, but all I had was Skippy Natural. It worked fine with that. But the Skippy Natural is different than many other natural PB's. It doesn't require stirring like most do.
Those are very lovely looking cookies, so enticing!
ReplyDeleteHi Jill-Congratulations on the Top 9 with your fabulous and perfect peanut butter cookies. The hatch pattern is unusual and pretty, as well!
